The culture of a people is its greatest strength. It covers its language, beliefs, rites, crafts, way of life, heritage in terms of traditions, customs, ancestral knowledge, values and artistic expressions. It is all these aspects of culture that forge a people’s identity.
By ignoring or interrupting in our children and grandchildren the learning of the Nkpàg language (Bafia), the transmission of our traditions, and the ancestral knowledge of our ancestors, we uproot them from what they must be by creating within them an identity void whose consequences will certainly be enormous in their social lives and in the future of the entire Nkpàg people.
Faced with the pressure of Western and Asian cultures, our African cultures in general and Cameroonian in particular are experiencing an erosion that jeopardizes their existence. To put a brake on the cultural decay that the Nkpàg people in particular experience, the idea of a digital platform therefore "The culture of the Nkpàg people" is one of the modules born among other initiatives. It is a question of gathering in a digital database accessible by modern means to all Nkpàg wherever they are in the world.
This module therefore needs the Nkpàg descendants who still master the traditions, rites, customs, ancestral knowledge, customary ceremonies to furnish it, this through articles, images, photos commented to make a digital collection of living testimonies on the culture of Nkpàg and the purest expression of their identity in Cameroon.
